12th Lullaby ♫ - Action for Goldenrod || Video Post

[ Johto can probably finally get a break from their usual music playing in the background.

Mister Pink the Jigglypuff and Liana the Mawile are at it again. They have taken Lacus's gear again without her permission. Lacus's video of her singing was coming out and they wanted to make sure that everyone would be able to see it. At the moment, Lacus was walking around Goldenrod looking for those two.

Mister Pink was first to appear on the screen. To most people, he may sound like he is talking nonsense --- but in Pokespeak: "Lacus-sama's performance is playing. Please watch it!"

They pointed the camera towards the multiple screens to show a video of Lacus Clyne's performance on screen. It was a video of her performing in one of the cafes that she worked for. ]

Now that a little time has passed,
Fond memories start to resurface ...

[ A little after the song ended, the sound of footsteps interrupted and a relieved voice spoke. ]

There you two are ... I was so worried about you.

I was afraid you got lost --- ara? What have you two been up to?

It is silly but ... I don't know what I'd do if I grew to love him.

[And that...causes Athrun's face to grow serious.]

You need to think about it logically. The main issue here is Kira. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but his absence here doesn't eliminate what you have together. Additionally, you have to think about what would happen if Kira returned here and had to be told that the girl he loves has moved on to another man.

Also...and I'm sorry, but this is going to sound selfish...you must remember that it'll affect your relationships with other people, too. Imagine how Shinn would react if he found out.

[After saying that, Athrun's stern expression softens...but this might be even harder to look at. He's looking melancholy.]

And as for me...I don't want to be forced to choose between you and Kira. You both mean far too much to me.

So please, don't think about that. Thinking about that will only lead both you and him down the road to pain. Keep your head about you. Please.

[ She told you, Athrun, because your opinion always means a lot to her. But she couldn't help but become very quiet. She looks away briefly, looking at the screen ... but the video of her singing was over. Only a video of a commercial was up. The sunset in the background for the commercial had ... reminded her of Kira again.

She felt a twinge of regret. Varon was really trying his best to win her affections and she did see that in every call he made. ]

I'm sorry ... I could never make you do that. Choose between Kira and me.

[ Small smile. ] I don't want to hurt anyone ...

[ This situation ... was a little difficult. ] I will ... speak to him. For now, we can remain friends.

[With that, Athrun's breathing eased. He gave a solemn nod.]

I know you don't. That's something that I appreciate about you...and that Kira loves in you.

Yeah. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. It'll hurt...but it'll save him a greater heartbreak in the long run.

[Well, now that he was calming down, he had one more thing to say.]

And I'm sorry for getting that worked up. It's just that the first thing I saw was Kira's face in such a situation...and it sent me into full defense mode. I trust you and your ability to make good decisions, and I hope I didn't come across as undermining that.

[Though hopefully the strongest emotion he conveyed was the level of care he possessed for his best friend's happiness.]

I am sorry I worried you ... but I am glad I talked to you. I simply ... didn't know what to do. Your opinion does matter to me.

[ Mister Pink climbed up her shoulder and pats Lacus's head. Lacus looked worried, so he was trying to comfort her.

She smiled now... for Mister Pink. ]

I love Kira ... and it just ... hurts not to have here I think. I want to ... see him again ...

[ Is that a tear? ]

[The look on Athrun's face was a pained one. She wasn't the only one who missed Kira...but this made him realize just how much more she missed Kira than he did.]

Where are you right now?

[From seeing this, Athrun desperately wanted to comfort her. And he couldn't do that from the other side of a tiny screen.]

I'm sorry to have worried you ... I'm at the cafe in front of the hotel. But ...

... you don't have to worry anymore. I will be fine and working hard.

I wouldn't mind company right now though.

[Click. Athrun hung up. And looking in toward the lobby will show why.

After all, it's hard to miss a blue-haired young man making a beeline for her...and when within arms' reach, pulling her into a hug.]

[ At first she was surprised by the hug --- but then understood. She hid her face and began to cry softly ... only enough for the two of them to hear. She wasn't really the type to cry in public. ]

[This was just as much for Athrun as it was for Lacus. His own arms were trembling and his chest muscles were tight, but Athrun being Athrun, he showed little other signs. But he was always that way -- always opting to suffer in silence.]

You are my sister, Lacus. I'm always here for you.

I know... You are really my only other family left.

[Her father had died left her feeling that way.

Her face still hiding. It was not good to have an idol seen crying, was it? Very few people had ever seen her crying. Even Kira --- the only other person she ever allowed to see this sign of her weakness had only seen her like this a handful of times. ]

[Athrun bowed his head. Even if Lacus was concerned about shedding tears in public, Athrun wasn't. After all, idol singers had to be human, too.]

Once you're all right, I have a favor I want to ask of you. But until then, let it all out.

[ Once he said to let it out, that was exactly what she did. She begins to sob quietly.

Sorry, Athrun. It looks like she will need to borrow your shoulder a little longer ... but she does nod. ]

[ After a while, she finally manages to calm down. Mister Pink pulls out a handkerchief from her bag and hands it to her. ]

I'm ... I'm sorry.

[ Smiling a little. ] That was an odd thing for me to do.

You've done nothing that warrants an apology. Everyone needs to vent their emotions every now and then. I'm just glad I could help you do that.

[ She smiled softly. ] You asked ... for a favor?

Yes. I did.

When the time comes for me to challenge the Pokémon League...I would like it if you would accompany me. Rise's gone now...and I think Yayoi would love your company.

[ This surprised her --- but she nodded. ]

Alright. But I think I can only do that ... if Azusa doesn't need me anymore. [ Without her, she worries about her sense of direction and if she will be able to get to her jobs on time. ]

... I wish to help her become an idol.

Oh, really? I didn't realize that you were helping her. I'm glad to see that she's in good hands.

But I'm sure that you aren't her only friend here. You could find someone else to look after her while you're away -- I bet even Shinn could manage.

I will ask her.

But I cannot leave her while she still needs me, Athrun. I just can't do that ...

Well, in a worst case scenario, we can see if she'd like to join us...but keep in mind that Azusa might also not want you to keep helping her if it means missing out on this. She's definitely the type of person who would do something like that.
